Terms of Service

Effective date: March 15, 2026

By installing or using the Forensic Email Google Workspace Add-on ("the Add-on"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the Add-on.

1. Description of the Service
Forensic Email is a Google Workspace Add-on that analyzes Gmail messages for security threats using a built-in, rule-based detection engine. All analysis runs entirely inside Google Apps Script on Google's infrastructure. No email content, metadata, or analysis results are transmitted to any server, service, or third party outside of Google's infrastructure.

2. Google Account and Permissions
Installation requires a Google account with Gmail. During installation, Google will ask you to grant the Add-on the OAuth scopes listed in the Add-on's manifest. These scopes allow the Add-on to:

• Read the content of the email currently open in Gmail (subject, sender, date, body, headers, and links) for the sole purpose of performing on-device analysis.
• Store your per-module settings (enabled/disabled toggles) in Google's UserProperties service, scoped to your account.

The Add-on does not store, cache, log, or transmit any email content. You may revoke access at any time via your Google Account's security settings.

3. No Guarantee of Accuracy
The Add-on uses heuristic rules to identify signals that may indicate a phishing or malicious email. It does not guarantee detection of all threats, nor that every flagged email is malicious. Analysis results are advisory only.

You are solely responsible for any action, taken or not taken, based on the Add-on's output. Do not rely on the Add-on as your sole means of evaluating email security.

4. No Warranty
THE ADD-ON IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE ADD-ON WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF SECURITY VULNERABILITIES.

5. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE DEVELOPER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE ADD-ON, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE ADD-ON EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE ADD-ON (WHICH, IF THE ADD-ON WAS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE, IS ZERO).

6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:

• Use the Add-on for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Google's Workspace Marketplace policies or Gmail Terms of Service.

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Add-on in a way that circumvents its intended security analysis function.

• Use the Add-on to analyze emails you are not authorized to access.

7. Third-Party Services
The Add-on runs on Google's Apps Script platform and is subject to Google's Terms of Service (policies.google.com/terms) and Google Workspace Terms of Service. The developer is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google LLC.

8. Changes to These Terms
The developer may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this document will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the Add-on after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Add-on shall be resolved in the state courts located in Forsyth County, Georgia, or the federal courts located in Atlanta, Georgia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
